Hi doctor,

I have a problem with a frequent cough, cold, fatigue, etc. I started taking Chyawanprash and Maha Sudarshana churna in the morning and Chyawanprash and Triphala powder at night. After 1 month of usage, I feel quite better. Further, I also have fatigue, insomnia, and stress. So, I am planning to include Ashwagandha and Brahmi also in my daily intake. Can you please suggest if I can take Chyawanprash, Maha Sudarshana churna, Triphala, Ashwagandha and Brahmi every day?

Chawyanprash and Maha Sudarshan churan are very good for your problems like cough and cold. You can take Chawyanprash regularly for three to four months. As it is good for increasing immunity, you can continue it. You have already taken Sudarshan churan for one month. Try not to take it for too long, because you cannot depend on medication completely. As you have other problems like insomnia, stress, fatigue, low stamina, etc. you can take Ashwagandha and Brahmi (Ayurvedic herbs) daily. Take the medicines as follows:

Take the medicines as follows:

  1. One to two teaspoon of Chawyanprash (Amlas, Pippali, Svadamstra) with milk 15 to 20 minutes before breakfast.
  2. Take Mahasudarshan churan (Swertia chirata, Triphala, Haridra, Daruharidra) 0.07 oz two times a day with lukewarm water after food for four weeks.
  3. Take one teaspoon of Triphala Churan (Amlaki, Haritaki, Vibhitaki) at bedtime with lukewarm water for three weeks. Do not take anything after taking Triphala powder. Triphala helps in flushing out of toxins.
  4. Capsule Brahmi (Brahmi) two capsules once a day with water after food for four weeks.
  5. Capsule Ashwagandha (Ashwagandha) two capsules once a day with water after food for four weeks.
  6. Take steam with normal water for some days.
  7. Along with this, do breathing exercises daily like Pranayam and Anulom vilom. These will be very helpful for you.
  8. Walk daily for at least 30 to 60 minutes a day.
  9. Try to sleep around 10:00 PM or maximum by midnight.
  10. Avoid using TV, laptop and mobile one to two hours before sleeping as their blue light hinder normal sleep pattern.
  11. Try all these things regularly and you will soon feel positive results.
