Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had acidity, a burning sensation in my stomach for the past month and under my throat, and I took ayurvedic medicine, which reduced the burning sensation. I have discomfort after breakfast or meals. My stomach is very heavy, and after some time, I burp. Since I was told not to have an empty stomach, I keep eating or drinking fruit juices between meals. I am concerned if it is because of this. I defecate three to four times a day. Will it help in healing acidity or worsen it? Sometimes I have stomach pain when my stomach is empty. My tongue shows the presence of a wound, and it becomes very dry without saliva even after drinking water, especially at midnight. Kindly suggest treatment. Can I take home remedies like coriander and jeera powder in boiled water, along with ayurvedic medicine? will it help in healing fast? Can I take amla juice along with an Amlant tablet?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

Acid formation is a continuous process in the body and so you have been asked to consume frequently. I suggest you follow the below-mentioned instructions:

  1. Continue taking something every two hours.

  2. Have more fresh fruits and vegetables, and different salads. But do not take salads and fruits along with food. Take them separately.

  3. Instead of three big meals, take five to seven small meals.

  4. Avoid excessive spicy, junk food and caffeinated drinks.

  5. Quit smoking and drinking if you do.

  6. Sleep adequately, at least for six to eight hours a day. Try to sleep before midnight. This will help a lot in controlling acidity.

  7. Drink plenty of water as it will control excessive acidity and also helps in your dry mouth.

  8. Do not take excessive stress, as stress also increases acidity.

  9. Three to four times defecation is normal and has nothing to do with healing or other things, so do not worry about it.

  10. You can try all the home remedies you have mentioned but do not do them in excess amounts.

  11. Do not take amla juice with the tablet.

  12. For immediate relief from dryness, take half a tablespoon of sugar, add water, and drink it.

  13. Change your toothbrush frequently.

  14. For immediate relief from gas take syrup. Himcocid (Cowrie shell ash or Varatika) and have two teaspoons of it with water after food or whenever you feel acidity. You can take it three to four times a day.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.
