Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am a 63-year-old male. Around 15 days back, I had a full body massage at an Ayurveda hospital for back pain. Toward the end of seven days of massage, I felt that something was pressing my rectum from the right side due to the pressure applied. After three days, there was a block on the passage of the stool, and on examination, by touching the inside of the rectum, something like a finger was blocking the stool. I now doubt that any organ, like the appendix, got misplaced and is pressing the rectum. Is there any chance of this? If so, can it be placed back by massage? The thing that blocked the stool appeared within three days of the massage. Kindly provide me with expert advice.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I just read your query and understand your concern.
First of all, let me tell you that the appendix cannot be displaced with a massage. The next thing is that you can only assume after touching that it is an organ that is pressing your rectum. But only a physician can confirm it after a clinical examination of the rectum and anal canal. He can take a look locally and will come to know about the exact condition and whether there is some blockage or other problem. As far as massage is concerned, it cannot displace any organ to the rectum. So I suggest you go to a nearby general surgeon so that he can examine you and tell you the status of your condition.
I hope you find my answer helpful.
