Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a mother of two months old baby boy. I am using Nalpamaradi Kera oil for his body massage but now I heard that it contains turmeric and it is not good for baby boys because it will prevent the growth of his body hair and mustache. Is it true? Should I stop using it?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

If it is in oil then it will not have any effect on your baby's hair growth. However, turmeric powder when used topically can lead to wiping off some hairs because it acts as a scrubber. So you can use the oil. But if you are still in dilemma you can change the oil. There are many massage oils for babies. I hope you understand my point.

Thank you.
