This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My father is suffering from asthma and has tried most treatments, but none have been effective. He also suffers from headaches, stress, and fatigue. What should he do?

Please suggest some solutions.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

You did not mention whether your father has been suffering from any other diseases. In asthma, patients typically experience breathing difficulties during an attack. Stress, headaches, and fatigue can be related to asthma.

First, try to determine if asthma is exacerbated by specific foods or occurs during particular seasons. If so, take extra precautions regarding these triggers. Asthma involves an allergic reaction in the body, which produces various symptoms. Thus, it is important to boost his immunity and avoid allergens.

Consider giving him simple water steam twice or thrice daily, as steam is very beneficial for asthmatic patients. You can also provide him with one glass of lukewarm milk mixed with one teaspoon of turmeric powder every night. If he does not wish to consume milk, an alternative is to give him Haridrakhand (an Ayurvedic preparation of turmeric and sugar), two teaspoons at night or one teaspoon twice a day with lukewarm water. Turmeric is highly beneficial in allergic conditions and can help relieve his symptoms.

Prepare a decoction of ginger, fennel, a pinch of pepper, and holy basil leaves (tulsi) with water; you may also add a pinch of sugar if desired. Give this decoction once a day. Additionally, provide him with Bresol syrup (containing haridra, tulasi, and vasa) two teaspoons twice a day for two to four weeks. Another option is to give him Septillin syrup (containing caps wightii, conch shell calx, and caps) two teaspoons twice a day for two to four weeks. These remedies can be used alongside his current medication and may help alleviate his condition.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.

The Probable causes

The probable cause could be seasonal asthma or an allergen.

Regarding follow up
