Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
How much dosage of Ashwagandha should I take for sleep disorder?
As of now, I am taking one teaspoon at night time after the meal, even after that I feel so much difficulty in falling asleep. Could you please suggest what to do regarding its dosage and the proper time to take it?
Please guide.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
The amount of Ashwagandha you are using now is enough. But you should mix it in medium hot cow's milk and drink it at bedtime. But there are so many reasons for not getting better sleep. So first, we have to find the actual cause of the sleeplessness. For many people, stress, work schedule, depression, and jet lag can cause difficulty in getting adequate sleep.
I would suggest the following:
1. Fix a sleep schedule. That means you must set the correct time to sleep and wake up.
2. Practice yoga.
3. Exercise for at least 30 minutes a day. Physical activity helps to get better sleep.
4. Avoid naps during the daytime.
5. Avoid tea, caffeine, and other beverages in the evenings.
6. Turn off all electronic devices at night.
7. You can use supplements like Melatonin and Magnesium to get better sleep.
I will suggest using Himasagara Taila (Shatavari Asperagus racemosus, Vidari Pueraria tuberosa, Kushmandaka Benincasa hispida) (kottackal arya vaidya sala), a medicated oil that you can use for a head massage for ten minutes, and taking a bath in the evening.
I hope this has helped you.
Kindly follow up if you have more doubt.
Thank you.
