Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I applied a face pack consisting of gram flour, milk, lemon, turmeric, and honey. After applying this, my skin has become red. Why is it so?
Please help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
The possible reason behind it can be that you are allergic to any of the contents used. Another reason can be that your skin might be very sensitive. If you have used this pack for the first time, then your skin might find it very harsh. So stop using this pack further. In the future, before using any new skin product take precautions. To get rid of your redness, I suggest the following:
1. Use ice to massage all over the face two to three times a day.
2. Do not wash it with soap.
3. Do not use any new skin product for the face for some time.
4. Do not use alcohol-based products for the face for some days.
If you do not have any other symptoms except redness, then it will subside within one or two days with the use of ice. But if redness is more and you have other associated symptoms, then you definitely need to visit a nearby dermatologist.
I hope this information will help you.
Thank you.
