Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

For the last two years, my liver function and my amylase and lipase readings have been quite deviant from normal. For liver, I tried Liv-52, but it did not help. Can you suggest some treatment to normalize the two organs?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Amylase and lipase are part of digestive enzymes. Typical values may change for some conditions, like acute pancreatitis. The value of amylase and lipase increased in suspected pancreatitis. In this condition, the patient suffers from severe abdominal pain, vomiting, loss of appetite, and fever. If you have such issues, you need proper medications and rest. Rather than Liv 52 (Capparis spinosa, Cichorium intybus, Solanum nigrum, Terminalia arjuna, Cassia occidentalis, Achillea millefolium, Tamarix gallica). The probable diagnosis is pancreatitis and cholecystitis. It would be helpful if you do the following investigations USG (ultrasound scan), abdomen, CT (computed tomography) scan, and LFT (liver function test). The differential diagnosis is abdominal pain, pancreatitis, and cholecystitis.

I suggest Avipattikar churna (Amla, Bibhitaki, Haritaki) 0.11 oz twice a day after meals. Sootashekhara rasa (Swarna Bhasma, Rajat bhasma, Shankh Bhasma) two tablets thrice a day after meals. Kamdudha ras (Mukta pisti, Pravala pisti, Mukta sukti pisti, Kapardika bhasma) one tablet twice a day after meals. Avoid spicy and fried junk foods. Quit smoking and drinking if you have these habits. Do regular meditation and pranayams like anulom-vilom, nadi shodhan and bhramari. It would be best if you follow these things and provide valuable feedback after one week of medications and your case details with suggested investigation reports.

Thank you.

Kind regards.
