What is the ayurvedic solution for persistent pimples?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 28-year-old woman who has been grappling with persistent facial pimples for several years. Despite trying numerous skincare products, I have not seen any improvement. I am interested in exploring this issue from an Ayurvedic perspective. I have come across the concept of doshas and suspect that my skin concerns may stem from an imbalance, particularly related to kapha.

Could you guide me on rebalancing my doshas to enhance my skin health? I am eager for solutions that delve deeper than mere topical treatments. Could you shed light on how Ayurveda addresses pimples and provide specific recommendations to rejuvenate my skin?

Thank you.

  2. Excessive alcohol consumption or tobacco use.
  3. Adverse reactions to allopathic medications, soaps, or shampoos.
  4. Overindulgence in fried foods, spicy foods, or dried fruits.

Treatment plan:

Consume:

  1. 2 tablets of Gandhak Rasayan.
  2. 2 tablets of Panchatikta Ghrit Guggulu.
  3. Half a tablespoon of Haridra Khanda.

Take these one-hour post breakfast and dinner, along with the aforementioned liquid. Continue this regimen for a minimum of 40 days.

It is essential to be patient as the healing process may require some time.

Preventive measures: Avoid the following during treatment:

  1. Alcohol.
  2. Fried and fatty foods.
  3. Non-vegetarian dishes.
  4. Spicy foods.
  5. Sour foods like tamarind.

  7. Refrain from consuming milk after non-vegetarian meals or alcohol.
  8. Engage in daily physical activity, starting with a 1 KM walk and gradually increasing the distance.
  9. Ensure you drink 33.814 fluid ounces of water daily.
  10. Avoid screens, such as televisions or mobile phones, at least an hour before bedtime.

Follow-Up: After adhering to this treatment and preventive plan for 40 days, please reach out with an update on your condition. Based on your progress, adjustments to the treatment may be recommended.
