Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Recently, I started taking Abhayarishta. I was experiencing pain in the anus, so I consulted a doctor who informed me that it was due to an infection. Now, I take Abhayarishta daily for better digestion. However, my stool color is dark brown. Could this be due to Abhayarishta, or is it a sign of another issue?
Please advise.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Abhayarishtam is a laxative and an appetizer, and it can be helpful for your condition. It might be causing your dark brown stool, but there are other potential causes as well. Certain foods and internal bleeding can also lead to this. You can easily check by stopping Abhayarishtam for two to three days and observing your stool. Pay attention to your diet, as foods like spinach, beetroot, or other iron-rich foods can also cause brown or blackish stools. Avoid these foods and monitor your stool color. If it remains brown, you should consult an anorectal specialist.
If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out.
Thank you.
