Reiki is a science and art of alternative medicine where the body is healed through 'universal energy.' Read the article to learn more about this technique and how it can be useful to you.

Reiki Healing - What Are the Uses and Benefits?

Reiki is also called "Ki" in Japanese and "Chi" in Chinese. Reiki is based on the idea that healing takes place through the 'universal energy' or 'life energy,' which flows through all of us. This universal energy is also called as 'Tai Chi' in Chinese. Reiki energy resides inside our body and flows throughout the body. This energy is not visible through our naked eye; however, Kirklian photography allows us to see this energy.

Mikao Usui, the founder of the Reiki system, recommends promoting peace and harmony through Reiki practice. Reiki is a Japanese healing technique that is administered using the palms. Usually, a person falls sick whenever his or her universal energy is low or imbalanced. In such cases, a Reiki teacher would connect with the universal energy and pass it to others through their palms by laying them on their specific affected body parts, which is deficient in energy.

Reiki is based on the belief that the act of helping others would produce similar benefits to self as well. So helping others would help the Reiki practitioner as well.

What Are the Uses of Reiki Techniques?

Reiki can be useful in treating a number of illnesses that have resulted from imbalance at the level of body, mind, and spirit. The uses are:

  1. Reiki helps to reduce stress, anxiety, and pain that has either caused by physical ailments, mental or emotional ill-health.
  2. It helps you reconnect with the current world and forget the traumatic past.
  3. It alleviates the long term chronic health problems like arthritis, asthma, cancer, heart problems, and many more.
  4. It is beneficial if given with medical and other treatments, for instance, after surgery or after cancer treatment.

What Can You Learn from Reiki?

You do not need any special educational background or skills to learn Reiki. People from all backgrounds and of any age can learn Reiki. The authenticate way to learn Reiki is through a Reiki master who has attained the third degree Reiki training. The skill of Reiki is simply transferred from the master to the student through 'attunement,' which takes place during the in-person Reiki class. Some people prefer to learn Reiki through distant learning, or online, which can be effective in gaining the basic knowledge of Reiki. However, you might not be able to achieve complete knowledge, and it will not be as effective as in-person training or attunement.

At different levels, you can learn different techniques:

  1. At the first level, beginners learn the basics of Reiki and hands-on techniques.
  2. At the second level, Reiki practitioners teach you distant healing and hands-on techniques with mental connection.
  3. At the third level, which is the highest level of training where you become master in Reiki and then you can achieve an attunement form your master.

In conclusion, it is always good to learn some extra skills like Reiki, which would help to cope with the ill health of your family and you can heal yourself whenever possible. This would be beneficial to you and others as well.
