Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My WBC and RBC are elevated. However, platelets and hemoglobin are normal. I am concerned about blood cancer. Someone told me that high WBC levels are linked to blood cancer. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

It is too early to consider blood cancer. Blast cells are observed in CBC reports in advanced blood cancer. A peripheral smear should also be performed. It is a more accurate test to check for blast cells to rule out infection, the most prevalent reason for an elevated WBC count.

I hope I have answered your question.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

But my RBC is also high, and please prescribe some medicine to reduce my WBC count. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

No medications are required at this level to lower the WBC count. If you have an infection, you should take antibiotics, anti-inflammatory, and anti-allergy drugs.

I hope I have answered your question.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
