Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have this one swollen tonsil, and it is spreading down my throat. I have had this problem for a year now. What might be the issue? Please help.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read the query, and I can understand your concern.

I am a maxillofacial surgeon, and I have seen the enclosed picture (attachment removed to protect the patient’s identity). Although the tonsils at the end of the uvula are enlarged, the lymphatic infection tends to move to the throat or lower neck instead of the tonsils spreading. Have you recently noticed any ball-shaped lymph node movements in your neck? As though there is an infection of the neck. That would be important to my diagnosis of your case. If you have not noticed any swollen lymph in the neck and you are concerned about its appearance, then let me tell you, it is a very progressive infection. Did you get any sore throat or fever during this last year? Have you had a fever multiple times or been sick or anything like that? Your elaboration of the symptoms I asked for will help me to diagnose and prescribe or suggest medication to stop the spreading of this chronic orofacial or neck infection.

I hope this will help you.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
