What could be the cause of a burning sensation and a slight bulge in the anal region?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a burning sensation and a slight bulge around my anus. But I have no pain or discharge of blood. Is it piles?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query.

I recommend you follow the instructions mentioned below.

1) Apply Pilex (Ayurvedic) ointment topically at the anus (with the clean applicator) at least once daily, before and after passing stool, for the next week.

2) Keep up a healthy, balanced, and anti-inflammatory diet, preferably a Mediterranean one. Stay well hydrated and have an active lifestyle. Try to avoid constipation.

3) Restrict flesh foods like chicken and eggs as these are likely to worsen constipation and consequently complicate health issues.

4) High-calorie foodstuffs including aerated soft drinks, sweets, cakes, pastries, and greasy, oily, spicy, and fast foods are best avoided too. Red meat, if any, is to be avoided completely.

Kindly consult a general surgeon, in person, for a clinical examination and further recommendation.

Hope this helps.

Thank you.
