Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am having irregular periods. Shall I take kalarchikai choornam?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

There are several causes for irregular menstruation. PCOD (Polycystic Ovarian Disease) is one of them. If you do have this issue then you can take kalarchikai (Caesalpinia Bonducella) 0.11 oz twice a day with warm water after meals for three months regularly. To rule out this issue, once you should go for USG (ultrasound) abdomen.

The Probable causes

PCOD, hypothyroidism, taking contraceptive or emergency pills, inflammatory pelvic diseases, climatic changes, food changes, etc.

Investigations to be done

USG abdomen, thyroid profile.

Treatment plan

If you have an irregular period due to PCOD, then you can go through Kalarchikai choornam as the above-mentioned dose.

Preventive measures

Avoid spicy and fried junk foods, do regular kapalbhati, mandukasana and ardhamatsyendrasana.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
