Medical Conditions - Her2

Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) is a gene that plays a significant part in the growth of breast cancer. HER2 genes are responsible for producing HER2 proteins, which helps in cell production, division, and repair. However, in some cases, these genes replicate and cause overexpression of HER2 protein, resulting in uncontrolled cell growth and division. As a result, HER2 positive breast cancer comparatively grows faster than HER2 negative breast cancer, diagnosed by immunohistochemistry (IHC) test and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) test.

All her2 Q&A

My cousin has breast cancer. Can immunotherapy help her?

Hello, Welcome to icliniq.com. I understand your concern. Metastatic breast cancer is classified as stage IV because it has spread to organs or lymph nodes far from the breast.
