Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 19 years old. I have been taking Zyrtec allergy medicine. A few months ago, I drank soy milk and had terrible stomach cramping and pain a few moments later. The next day, I had terrible gas problems. And was time when I let some gas out, a bunch of yellow jello substance came out. Then, the next day, I had horrible diarrhea, probably every five minutes, with nausea and vomiting a few times. The stool was yellow. That lasted a few days. The first month went by, and everything slowed down, but I still had a little pain in my lower abdomen, and the stool was not solid and was yellowish. My stool is getting solid, but I still have a little pain in my lower abdomen. It also is preventing me from having a full erection. I want to know what it could be to get back to normal.

Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

The problem you described meets the criteria for soya intolerance, probably due to some enzyme deficiency involved with soya milk metabolism. About that, you are advised not to use any soy milk in the future. Regarding the erection problem, there is no link between these two conditions, and it is independent of soy milk intolerance. To find out the cause, please re-post your query with the following details.

  1. Your age and duration of erectile dysfunction.
  2. Circumstances, whether you face this problem with a partner or in a particular environment.
  3. Do you find an erection of your penis while you get out of bed in the early morning?
  4. Do you have chronic illnesses like hypertension, diabetes, or cardiac disease?
  5. If yes, please describe in detail, including the kind of medicine you received.
  6. I hope this information will help you.

    Thanks.
