Is Hridyamrit Vati safe with Rosuvastatin and Ezetimibe?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My cholesterol is at 250 mg/dL, and my cardiologist has started me on Rosuvastatin with Ezetimibe. I was wondering if it is safe to also take Hridyamrit Vati along with it. Please help.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to iclinic.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

It is great to see how committed you are to managing your health. A cholesterol level of 250 mg/dL is something to take seriously, and it is good that you are already on Rosuvastatin plus Ezetimibe. This combination effectively lowers LDL (low-density cholesterol or bad cholesterol) and helps reduce your risk of heart disease.

I understand your interest in complementing your treatment with Ayurvedic support. Hridyamrit vati is a well-known formulation often used for heart and cholesterol health. However, combining herbal remedies with prescription medications should always be done carefully. Even though it is natural, Hridyamrit vati can sometimes interact with statins or put added pressure on the liver.

So, check in with your cardiologist or a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner before starting it. If they are okay with it, ensure everything is closely monitored, especially your liver function and cholesterol levels.

The best results often come from combining the proper medication with healthy habits. A diet rich in fruits, veggies, whole grains, regular physical activity, and stress management can make a big difference in the long run.

I hope this helps.

Kindly revert so I can assist you further.

Thank you.
