Hi doctor,
My father is a chronic kidney disease patient. We have been giving him ayurvedic treatment for the last three years, and his condition was stable. However, his hemoglobin level has dropped to five for the last six months. Phosphorus level is 9.1 with minor calcium deficiency. Due to low hemoglobin levels, we had to consult a nephrologist who suggested infusing two units of blood (RBC), which has been done. Nephrologist suggested tablets Sevcar 800 mg, Shelcal 500 mg, and Calcite 25 mg.
After the blood infusion, he is under continuous severe body pain and cannot sleep. I suggest replacing the medicine mentioned above with an ayurvedic (metal free, i.e., without Bhasma) one as they are Vitamin D, phosphorus binder, and iron supplements. Also there any safe pain reliever medicine for his condition in ayurveda? Kindly suggest medicine that does not have a mettle (Bhasma).

I just read your query. See, his body ache is mainly due to a deficiency of nutrients, and the medication you are giving him is fine. Because in Ayurveda, if you want to give him supplements related to iron deficiency and calcium, they will be bhasma, mainly containing metals of these nutrients. As far as pain is concerned, take Maha Narayan oil (Mahanarayan oil (Aswagandha, Bilva, Gokhuru) and gently massage the whole body two times a day. It will help him in managing body aches to a great extent.
