Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am 18 years old and have various types of acne on my face, including blackheads, whiteheads, pustules, and papules. Occasionally, I also get one or two painful cysts on my face. These cysts are very sensitive and hurt if anything touches them. Usually, I get only one cyst at a time, and when one goes away, another one appears in a different spot. I have been dealing with acne for almost a year now. While it is not severe, I really want to get rid of the pimples on my forehead, the blackheads and whiteheads on and around my nose, the pimples on my cheeks, and the recurring cysts.
My acne tends to get worse when I am constipated, which I think happens because I do not drink enough water and often rely on cold drinks and junk food (though I only eat junk food two to three times a week). I try to shower every other day, usually with cold water after my workouts. I do not have acne on any other part of my body, it is only on my face. My weight is approximately 88 pounds, and my height is 5 feet 5 inches.
Please help.
