My 12-year-old son has got anal fissures due to constipation. He has the habit of holding his bowel movements while in public, and we have finally helped him overcome the habit. However, the fissures and spotting have not reduced. He does not have a fever, abdominal pain, blood in stools, or any food triggers that point towards Crohn's disease. His doctor has suggested he get a colonoscopy done. He has normal bowel movements; however, his anus looks red and irritated, and his skin seems thin. Currently, he is using a stool softener. Also, his stool sample does not show blood or bacteria. I have tried using coconut oil and vaseline, but nothing seems to help.

My son is 10 years old and has been getting colds and fevers often for the past two months. He either gets a stomach upset or a cold with a fever. For the past three days, he has had a severe cough that does not make him sleep at night. Should I consult a doctor in person for this, or will remedy help?
