How to manage symptoms associated with a severe cough?
Hello doctor,
I have woken up with a terrible cough, and it has made me throw up for the past four nights. It did not do that last night, though. My lower abdomen hurts, and I am having terrible cramps (literally all-day cramps, nonstop), and it is like period cramps, but it is more of a pulling sensation with it. I experienced a sharp pain on the lower right side for about a minute, and this occurrence has repeated a few times. I ate food, and it is like the top of my stomach hurts along with the bottom (the bottom pain has not changed any), and my lower back is hurting really badly along with my shoulders. I am experiencing some pain on the upper right side, but it is localized entirely on the right side.

How does vasculitides lead to death?
Hello doctor,
My aunt died from vasculitis of the lungs caused by a reaction to an antibiotic. She had been on a ventilator for a few weeks and was taken off successfully for about a week. The doctors told her she needed to go back on the ventilator because her lungs were not getting any better. She refused and then she passed away.
I am unclear as to the physical process that resulted in her death. I just do not understand how inflammation of the blood vessels in her lungs caused her to die. Could you please explain what actually happened to her?
