These are the mental disorders which are characterized by having a
disconnection of thoughts, actions, surroundings, and identity. The
symptoms manifested include amnesia (memory loss), detachment, blurred
identity, emotional and professional stress become unmanageable,
mental health issues like depression, anxiety, etc. Its main etiology
is emotional trauma. There are basically three types which are
dissociative amnesia, dissociative identity disorder, and
depersonalization-derealization disorder, and can be diagnosed using physical and psychiatric examination, and the usage of diagnostic criteria in DSM-5. The treatment may comprise of psychotherapy,medications along with lifestyle changes.
