Infant stimulation therapy is done by providing sensory stimulation to a baby's sense of sight, sound, touch, smell, or taste as a part of therapeutic intervention. It is used for infants who are ill or deprived of typical sensory experiences. Different stimuli are given based on the child's needs. Examples are, tactile stimulation is provided by rubbing or massaging the babies back, auditory stimulation by playing loud or soft music, and visual stimulation by making the baby look at high-contrast pictures. Infant stimulation therapy improves the kid's attention span, memory, curiosity, and helps in the development of the nervous system.
